Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will inaugurate Delhi’s Ambitious Signature Bridge on Sunday, after which it will open on Monday to the general public. The Delhi government had called it a strange project, now it is claiming that its construction was completed on its own. Together with the Congress, BJP is now also making its contribution in its construction. By the way, the cost of this bridge has increased by three hundred percent.
The Delhi government is organizing a big program to open the bridge tomorrow. There will also be laser show organized. It is being said by the government that you have worked hard to fulfill this bridge and the budget has also been provided for its rising cost. But two years ago, PWD Minister Satyendra Jain in the Assembly told the signature bridge as a strange project and wondered why the Congress government started this project. In the year 2004, this project was started during the Sheila government of Congress.
At that time its cost was estimated to be around 464 crores. It was claimed to be completed before the 2010 Commonwealth Games, but it was started after the Commonwealth Games. In 2011, its price increased to Rs 1131 crore. At that time the Congress government had said that apart from some loops, facilities have been added. Now it has finally become ready for Rs 1518.37 crore. Congress leaders are saying that this was our project and before the departure of our government, its main task was completed.
On the other hand, area MP and state BJP chief Manoj Tiwari is claiming that this project belongs to his government. They claim that after discussing with then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 2003, BJP MLA of that time, Sahib Singh Chauhan, had laid out this framework. At that time it was planned to build it at a cost of 265 crores but later this case was hanging in the balance due to the Congress and the Delhi Government of the Center. When he was elected MP, he made every possible help in starting the restructured work. He is upset that he has not been invited to the inauguration of the bridge. They say that they have also provided the budget for this project.
